Chief Operating Officer - Oshtugon Computers LP
Job Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer will provide strategic leadership and direction for
Oshtugon Computers LP (“Oshtugon”), ensuring the achievement of business goals and
objectives. This role involves overseeing all aspects of Oshtugon Computers operations, including
sales, marketing, finance, community liaison and customer service. A key aspect will be to drive
growth and profitability in the sale of Oshtugon Computers products (available through current
and additional supply chains) in existing retail locations as well as to Northern Ontario First
Nations, First Nation organizations and First Nation businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the First Nation communities and programs, First Nation organizations, First
Nation Businesses and private businesses in Northwestern Ontario. - Develop and implement Oshtugon Computers strategic plan to achieve business goals and
objectives. - Oversee Oshtugon Computers operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost
effective management of resources. - Communicate and collaborate with General Manager to control spending, budgeting,
reporting, and operational excellence. - Establish and maintain key relationships with strategic business partners, such as
suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, and so on. - Lead the executive team in establishing and executing major goals and objectives for
Oshtugon. - Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development and implementation of
sales and marketing initiatives. - Ensure Oshtugon Computers financial performance meets or exceeds established goals
and objectives. - Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus, and service,
and encourages individual integrity. - Represent Oshtugon Computers in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government
departments, and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms. - Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant
government departments and agencies, local authorities, key-decision makers, and other
stakeholders to exchange information and views to ensure Oshtugon Computers is providing the
appropriate range and quality of services. - Monitor the operating and financial results against plans and budgets, taking remedial
action where necessary and informing the Board of significant changes. - Maintain and develop organizational culture, values, and reputation in its markets and
with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory/official bodies. - Explore the development of internal financial statements
Qualifications:
- Experience as a President or in other managerial positions in the retail industry, preferably
understanding the customers from Northwestern Ontario - Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, sales, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Understanding of Indigenous culture and ability to speak Oji-cree an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Travel required
- Ability to attend trade shows and conduct presentations
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computers and peripherals

- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year
- Schedule: Monday to Friday - overtime as required
